It doesn’t matter if you are a new fisherman or an experienced vet (which usually means a little bit better storyteller). Likewise, it doesn’t matter if you are new to the area or lived here all your life. You don’t even need to own a boat. You should check out the Lower Neuse Anglers fishing club. The club meets the second Tuesday of the month at Brantley’s restaurant in Oriental. Most people arrive earlier than the official start time of 6:30pm so they can get something to eat for dinner, swap some stories, or try to find out about the latest bite. Annual membership is only $30.
Check out their website for more information: www.lnangers.com
Monthly speakers consist of local guides, manufacturer’s prostaff personnel, seasoned locals, and retailers updating you on the latest in fishing stuff. The 2015 schedule has five area guides talking about all the fish in our area and proven techniques how to catch them. I hope to see you there.
…don’t let the big one get away
