My wife and I were in the market for a waterfront weekend cottage in the Oriental, North Carolina area. Larry met with us and learned of our needs and desires and then proceeded to show us a wide choice of homes that might suit us. Larry’s broad knowledge of Pamlico County and real estate in that County allowed him to help us make our final decision. After we decided on a property, Larry steered us through the negotiation process that culminated in our purchasing a waterfront home in Oriental that suits us perfectly. We could not be more pleased with Larry’s extremely professional service and the results of that service.

About a year ago my wife and I decided to relocate from the Boston area to a warmer climate. After a good deal of reading and surfing, we gravitated to the Pamlico county area and Oriental. Prior to our initial trip, I called three brokers in the area and based on these conversations decided to meet with Larry. During the course of numerous days and successive trips to North Carolina, we eventually purchased a home. Larry was extremely gracious with his time, taking us from Aurora to Arapahoe looking at homes. In many of those locations he made comments regarding the location that would not be apparent to the transient observer and what we have found, since we know the area better ourselves, is that his comments were always absolutely correct. The point is that it was proved to me he knows the area and the market extremely well.
At such time as we found a home we liked, Larry was very helpful in negotiations and extremely attentive to all details of follow up culminating in the closing and in this instance that was out of state follow up.
Since our purchase, not knowing the area, I have called Larry probably a dozen times requesting assistance of one nature or another. He has always been free with his time and in every instance has directed me to someone to take care of my problem, whether it was yard maintenance or refrigerator repair. To this day I joke with him that there isn’t a person in the Oriental area he doesn’t know. Larry is extremely knowledgeable, honest, pleasant and competent. In an industry plagued with incompetence and immaturity, Larry is the consummate professional.
Not only is he competent to deal with, but he and, as we have gotten to know, his wife are a pleasure to deal with. You can’t do any better than that. If this review sounds excessively flattering, it is, because Larry and Suzanne earned it.

In a very difficult market Larry Gwaltney and his coworkers put all their efforts into selling my house. When a serious prospective buyer was found he continually gave me his best, advising me thru to the closing. I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend him highly as a real estate expert, and fine person.

I’ve dealt with Mr. G and his wife for years and years. As with anything, during boom times, every one and his brother becomes an expert realtor. HOWEVER, Mr. G has been in this business most of his life and is there through thick and thin. As a matter of fact, Larry has TRAINED some his most successful competitors when they were new to the business. The fact is, NOTHING replaces honesty, dedication, insight and market knowledge, which is why I deal with Sail/Loft Realty and the Gwaltneys. FURTHER, it took me YEARS of being hustled to figure out who the best agents were, and that would be Larry and his staff.
We chose Larry and Suzanne Gwaltney to broker the sale of two properties (home and lot) in Oriental that were part of my father’s estate. Larry’s dad was my parent’s broker when they moved to Oriental 30 years ago, so Larry came well recommended. Since we live in Florida we needed someone who had local knowledge of the real estate marketplace as well as someone with experience we could count on to represent us in the sale of our properties. Larry and Suzanne fulfilled both requirements beyond expectation.

We selected Larry and Suzanne because of their local roots, and that made all the difference. On 3 separate visits, Larry showed us around the different neighborhoods that matched our real estate needs, taking the time to explain the history of various waterfront subdivisions, how each had fared in previous storms, and informed us about local construction, etc. He has in-depth knowledge in these and many other areas. He usually knew the real estate history of individual properties. Although we did not plan to buy for several years, Larry and Suzanne always made us feel as if they understood and respected our situation, and never pressured us.
They did such a good job introducing us to the area that we only looked at one home – the one we bought. We called them to ask for a showing on a weekend noon, and by late afternoon had spent several hours in the home confirming that this was the one. The Gwaltneys knew the sellers and the history of the home, and did their best to get us the deal we needed. It was an unusually complicated deal because of timing issues, but they sailed us right through it. Throughout the negotiating process, they were always available, day or night. Their combined real estate expertise and innovative thinking really made a difference. We couldn’t be happier with their responsiveness and professionalism.
After the home inspection, more negotiations ensued and again because of their experience, we were able to reach an excellent agreement with the sellers. Both Larry and Suzanne continue to help us with professional referrals, and make every effort to help us feel welcome in our new hometown.

Suzanne is more than an excellent real estate agent. She is a trusted friend who, after helping us buy our home and become part of a new community, is now assisting in arrangements to rebuild and decorate after the hurricane here, while we are relocated out of state. I have the utmost confidence that she will find a great buyer for it and that the transition will run smoothly and to all parties satisfaction.

Moving from England to America is no easy feat. Suzanne Gwaltney of Sailloft Century 21 Realty in Oriental moved heaven and earth to make our transition the best it could be. Firstly her expertise and knowledge of the area made it a very pleasant experience and took all the stress out of house searching. The upmost important to us was to find an agent who would listen to our needs and requirements and not push us into something just to get the sale. Suzanne listened and then boy oh boy did she deliver. We are now living in the most beautiful location it is more than we hoped for and could never have found this on our own! Her team continue to support after the sale and guide us as we to continue to make this our new home. We would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone and truly believe that without Sailloft Realty we would not be living here. Thank you Suzanne to you and all your team.

Suzanne is a true professional. She and Larry sold my home, assisted me in finding a rental, and ultimately found my dream home. Her detail to attention and knowledge of the industry are unsurpassed. My daughter has just moved to the area and I have already told her that Suzanne is the agent she should use. I am a paralegal in the area and handle real estate closings. I often recommend clients to Sail Loft Realty because their services surpass many other agencies.

Suzanne Gwaltney is the best agent with whom I have ever worked. She is personable making the process seem pleasant and easily manageable. She offered simple, inexpensive steps that could be taken to improve the presentation of the house and was diligent in finding appropriate comparable properties. She helped price the house with the idea of what was reasonable and would allow the house to move in a timely manner. Suzanne was able to present us with an acceptable offer to purchase our property in twenty-eight days.

Suzanne and everyone at Century 21 Sail/Loft Realty were great and went beyond the call of duty. I can’t thank her enough for all the hard work she put forth.
