Striper season opens October 1 and runs through April 30 in our local waters. And man this is a good eating fish. Size and creel limits are; 2 fish / day with no fish less than 18” and no fish between 22”-27”. That might be much to remember for a simple minded fisherman so let’s simplify it, keep the 18”-22” fish and if you were a hippie from the 60’s remember the peace sign… it is peace or two. To catch stripers you will need to run up river a few minutes past the Minnesott Ferry. Start fishing around Beard’s Creek on the north side and Slocum Creek on the south side of the river and continue fishing up river. The stripers will be here all fall, winter and spring. Peace out.
don’t let the big on get away….
